Hand To Hand COMBAT GOD DAMNIT Empty Hand To Hand COMBAT GOD DAMNIT

Post by Absinthe Tue Oct 07, 2014 9:22 am

I'll start by saying that what I talk about, I understand breathe. I train quite often and honestly, if I could, I would send my back to the middle ages where all people did was basically kill eachother, because violence really is my forte. It's really unfortunate that we can't just beat the shit out of eachother like in fight club or anything that involves rib crushing, although that's just me.

I was born under a father who's entire life was determined by martial arts, it's the reason I'm alive and the reason why he would of met my mother and probably influence his attraction. The martial art I'm talking about is tong long, dad's practiced it for about 20 years, some of that time being spent under the vise of some grand masters in Hong Kong, probably was the most painful moment of his life getting trained under them. But in any case, he's given a lot of the information and training he received over the years now that he's a little older and can no longer kill as effective as he could before. I've trained with it and I've come to understand fighting, so what I am about to say should not be a shock and don't think I'm wrong, I'm genuinely right.

First of all everyone seems to think that strength is everything, strength is impact and struggle, it's grappling and standing your ground. But it doesn't determine your fight, speed and technique really determines that. Because you might think "I am a Sanguine, this fledgeling has no chance!" or "I'm an adept, this Sanguine couldn't beat me in hand to hand.". I'm here to tell you, that sort of thinking is WRONG.

Right now there are a bunch of old coots stumbling around Hong Kong right now and they could without even breaking a sweat, kill Sylvester Stalone and all the other A Team members in a hand to hand fight, with their balls literally sucked into their bodies so as they could not even get kicked in the nuts (I am not joking, they can suck their balls inside themselves, there's videos of it. Although that's hardly the most amazing thing they can do.). They aren't super human, they weren't born special, they just trained and used techniques that made them pretty much the most deadly thing on the planet. I mean, there's not even a contest, people who do this martial art don't have to specifically worry about losing a fight, they just need to make sure they don't kill people by accident while defending themselves.

So while speed is important in a fight and strength can determine it by a bit, that's more or less really just the tool you are given, the tools you use. But regardless of how big or fast your tool is, it comes down to the person using it(Like in sex.). Proper technique and a trained reaction time in a fight, basically makes you three times as deadly as compared to if you were to do street fighting (You react to actions and attack, as opposed to just doing whatever you were trained to do over and over again, until everyone in front and behind you is on the ground twitching or dead.).

Most people seem to understand fighting as someone sends a punch, I dodge it, I send a punch, it hits them or something like that. Being a vampire doesn't exactly mean that you're going to beat every single fight because of some natural talents, you might be fighting a fledgling vampire as a sanguine or Nosferatu, but if that Fledgeling so happens to exercise regularly and have some kind of hand to hand training, they can very well fuck your shit up and anyone else near you.

Being strong or fast doesn't determine too much, your technique really is everything and practicing your training in a real scenario reinforces it. The reason really is because a martial artist doesn't have to think or think about their reaction, it's trained into them in the same way that you know that 2 + 2 = 4 or that snakes are dangerous. That person can be weaker then you or not even as quick as you, but you have to think about your actions and no matter what, the actions you choose to commit will probably be less effective, because they aren't the absolute most optimal action you can do. There's also another thing, muscle memory, street fighting has the consequence of you most likely having absolute no muscle memory. When you practice the same move or technique over and over again for years, your muscles remember it, like a soldier remembers his rifle even years after he leaves the military.

So in a sense I want to reinforce the idea that being a fable shouldn't make you some badass, obviously it helps and being an Adept will make you really deadly. But that shouldn't be only thing to be taken into account, since that's all anyone gives a shit about "What level are you, what rank, what type of fable?". No one gives a fuck about training or the fact that a character might exercise like an insane person, it's about their talents, which quite often determine very little as opposed to developed skills.

My character is also a fable, I like to determine what he does and how he can do things by his actions and skill, I also take into account the fact the he is a fable, but it's not the complete determining factor. Fighting's not a matter of stats, strength or speed, they are attributes and additives to the unpredictable, while skill, determination and initiative lead a fight as opposed to the stats. Although obviously stats can take over and be the determining factor, as if you were to have an Adept fighting a human, unless that human is a 30 year martial artist and lands a lucky strike at the Adept, he's probably going to die very quickly.

Also that whole thing about strength, right now at the age of seventeen I can apply enough force through the bottom of my fist via a hammer strike to a skull, the impacts enough to shatter the skull and cause brain trauma or at the very least give a concussion. That's from three things, conditioning of the muscle at the bottom of the fist, exercise and the constant practice of the technique/reaction for the swing, that last factor being the thing that determines if I manage to crack someone's skull open or simply give them a concussion.

I don't want prying into my current life though, I feel somewhat uncomfortable talking about myself on the internet, most people sound like assholes as if they want everyone to empathize for them or think they are cool, you can do that in real life with your friends, brag about that shit there. I want to prove a point, anyone can really do just about anything and capabilities are determined by skill, not by genetics or the fact that you are a fable. Obviously there is the exception that if there is a massive gap between two parties, more specifically in strength or speed, then it can be absolutely impossible for someone to do something no matter how well trained they are because of physical limitations.

I mean no one is going to read this and think their martial artist or CEDA human can take on an Adept bare handed, although they can still kick some Sanguine ass if they plan their attacks appropriately and their character has the appropriate physical state as well as skill.

Feel free to look up Tong Long, it's some deadly stuff and it's probably advised for those of you that feel like they want to be able to break sternums or skulls for that matter in terms of self defense. Although most of what you will see is not specifically possible, it can take decades to learn some of the techniques and that ball sucking one, I don't even know about that one, just don't even try.

Also this is a video of a kind of shitty version of Tong Long that's sort of effective, although there's a bit of dislike for it because Henry Sue actually dumbed down the martial art so white people could stop complaining about it being too hard / less rewarding (You people seem to have a fixation about belts, it doesn't actually make you better at martial arts because you are Tenth Dan or a Black Belt in something. The fact that your martial art actually hands out belts is a sign that it's weak/easy. In the raw world of martial art, there are no belts, you aren't a title, you are either the student or master.).

Also as a note, they excessively hit each other with soft hits. It's really just for show, you only need to hit someone once in the head with a hammer or palm strike to knock them out or kill them, further attacks would just guarantee death or something near that.

These guys also train their tendons, so they look really skinny, but because of the strength of their tendons whatever they toss at you is strong enough to deliver a fatal blow.
