    Mercenary - Gunnar Arne

Post by TyrGodOfWar98 on Mon Sep 29, 2014 11:10 pm

Steam Name : Sir Zacharias Maurus

    Steam ID : STEAM_0:1:78508993

How long have you been roleplaying : For about 2-3 years, a week for this server though.

Any experience having this auth before : I have one more app currently, going named "Immortal" Knight.

What are you applying for : A Mercenary/Hitman

Why should you have this : I love this server currently, and I want to play a decent character but not over the top like the Immortal Knight spec char I'm trying to get authed. Iv'e also had 2-3 years as stated above experience roleplaying. While I might not be the best RPer, I'm acceptable to criticism.

    Backstory:

Gunnar Arne born in 1988 is a Swedish born Citizen, living his life for 18 years in the rural winter-side of Sweden. He as every Male Citizen had to do in Sweden at the time served in the Military, being determined he rose through the ranks to the point of being a Sergeant, and being a Ranger in the Arméns Jägarbataljon. He was dishonorable discharged for resulting in the death of a Officer due to him freaking out, and giving bull**** orders that resulted in the death of a few Coalition troops in Afghanistan. He was soon out of work since the Military was the only job he excelled in so he later joined up with a friend who was a Mercenary.

Soon the discovery of mythical creatures led to a Governments hiring Private Military Companies, and Mercenaries to eradicate the creatures without getting their hands dirty. Gunnar, and his buddy Njord were one of these Mercenaries that were hired along with a few Blackwater personnel, and Russian Mercenaries. The night he, and Njord were the pointmen of the team of hired guns, they were in a large rural forest rumored to house the den of a feral Werewolf preying on the local town of Woodbury, Kentucky. They were equipped with the best equipment you could buy NVGs, silenced sub-machine guns, some M65 hand grenades, and top of the line protection...none of this mattered when they met the beast though.

The feral Werewolf preyed on the back of the team, the rearguard. It tore out Yuri, a former Alfa team Spetsnaz throat before the night erupted in silenced gunfire. When the dust settled, Yuri was dead and Michael was gone, a United States Marine. The team was now down to four people Gunnar, Njord, Nikolai, and Jason. This didn't last long as the Werewolf attacked almost immediately after they got their bearings, it tearing Jason a bodybuilder, and US Ranger in half, after this it crushed Nikolai's skull impervious to the amount of bullets raining into it. It continued coming, even after half of the 9mm from Gunnar, and Njords silenced MP5's sprayed it. As if time stopped, Gunnar saw the Wolf-Man barreling torwards Njord at a speed unmatchable for anything normal, Gunnar had to thing quick so he decided to do something very stupid. He launched himself in the way of the charging Werewolf, the Werewolf saw his action of self-sacrifice but did not take pity on this human. The Werewolf proceeded to bite the man in his right shoulder, tearing away flesh and tissue. Unseen by both Gunnar, and the Wolf, Njord charged the Wolf knocking him slightly away from Gunnar. What happened next left Gunnar in a state of depression, and anger....Njord had pulled the pin of a M67, and sacrificed himself to save Gunnar, the resulting explosion left Werewolf bits all over the ground, but no Njord.

Gunnar survived the night, but had contracted Lycanthropy resulting in him having a hatred for all Fable kind, especially Werewolves. He soon moved to the United States two years later, the year being 2016. He now worked as a Hitman, and lone Mercenary, taking on any contract in hopes it will result in him dying faster but as a Warrior to preserve his rightful place in Valhalla. He soon ended up in Los Angeles, a City of Fable-Progressives who "fought" for equal rights, treatment, and safety from the Vigilante, and Neo-Crusader Christians.

Yes, I agree to use this character responsibly, and I understand it can be taken away from me at any time deemed necessary.

I'd like to point out that weapons are typically being confiscated from civilians. So, that's something to keep in mind - he won't be able to just waltz out in public with an AK and not be confronted about it.

I'm just saying, it sounds like he has way too many guns. I just feel uncomfortable with him being a walking armory. Also you probably don't know this, but silencers are the most useless thing to ever use on any gun. Unless you are firing a .22 rifle, with a silencer, everyone will hear your M24. I mean everyone in the whole .6 - .9 mile radius of you, will hear that gunshot, your silencer is not going to do a single thing for you. It'll just make your rifle heavier and your bullets fly slower, silencers quite simply slow down the bullet and stop it from breaking the speed of sound. So if you decide to fire a silenced weapon at someone wearing a decent set of Kevlar, it probably wont even pierce the armor.

The silenced pistol on the other hand, if it fires Nine Mill, will be sort of silenced. In the sense that it will be equal to the sound of you smashing a hammer against a brick wall really fucking hard.

Blame movies if you believed otherwise to what I said, hollywood is one of the largest trolls when it comes to guns. They like to make everyone believe that when you shoot a gun with a silencer, it makes a Ptew sound and no one hears it (Games too.). When in reality, it makes almost no difference.

Dude....I know about guns, Iv'e saw them being fired IRL....silencers do exactly as they say....they make the sound more silent, but its still very audible, exactly with firing a round for a M24....also I understand that since the DECA are taking away guns from people....when I'm just roaming I'd probably be able to keep my silenced pistol/smg hidden along with my tomahawk.

Also, the M24 fires a variety of types of bullets....the main one would be a 7.62x51mm NATO....even with a silencer, I'm sure it's still going to penetrate the KEVLAR, unless it's something similar to Dragon Skin that is super OP....also, I' m not going around shooting the damn DECA, I'm a Merc for Christ Sake, I'll probably be a Guard for a VIP, or a assassination or two.

Sorry if my description of the things above do not make sense, or make you give -support, but I know how to RP correctly in the sense that I'm not going to be a D Bag shouting random firearm bullshit, and killing Cops for Fun.

The main use of a silencer is to reduce the sound of a firearm just enough so as to avoid hearing damage, it also reduces muzzle flash. All in all, it's more of a safety device than a stealth device, unless you're using a sophisticated military grade silencer with the appropriate ammunition to boot - which doesn't magically work for every publicly available firearm in existence.

So, in the end, the silencer is not going to make you any less conspicuous... In fact, a pistol with a foot long silencer is going to be harder to hide due to the added size and weight.

I'd be okay with this application as long as he doesn't have a ton of weaponry. I mean the character is more decked out then Agent 47 in terms of guns.

As Iv'e said....I'll only be using the two rifles when my char has a hit, or job....I'll most likely be concealing my sidearm, and my melee weapon.

What if he had like a sub machine gun and the sniper? As opposed to having two high tier guns? I mean if he's doing contracts he'll make money, so later on through work, he could find an IC way of purchasing a better gun. Even if you just PM'd pixie and asked him later on, after you've done a few contract killings for him to replace your SMG with an AK. At least you aren't at the absolute top in terms of gear.

Like your primary weapons are a Honey Badger and the M24, which is probably better to use. Honey Badger's are probably concealable if you have a folding stock, stick it in a trench coat pocket and you can walk around with it.

Actually, I'll go with Absinthe's idea....now that I think of it, having two really good rifles does sound a bit op.
