    The Black Crusades Empty The Black Crusades

    .:Purpose:.

    They used to be tales, to scare kids when they were younger, now we're watching them tear our friends apart. They insist that the walking corpses that plague our streets are human, that a corpse can have the same rights a human has. When a dog bites a human, it’s put down, when a subhuman does it, they’re excused, it’s not their fault, and they have to eat. FEAR came; their objective was to cleanse humanity, to ensure that it stayed as it should. When FEAR was disbanded, this objective was lost; humanity was allowed to slip into the steady decline of their purity. Only through the unification of humanity could the spread of the disease they call “Fables” be stopped. And so the Black Crusades was formed, their aim to take upon the goal FEAR had set out to accomplish, with no inhibitions, relentless in their pursuit of the true humanity.

    Sorry if you think that, our group is actually nothing similar to yours. Considering we're almost all going to be ex-DECA/FEAR units ourselves. Although, I believe the name is the only similarity, and our.. story is a rather big difference as well. Also, it's not your idea, you're taking inspiration from a historical event/group, which we also happened to do.

    Where in history was there an organization dedicated to exterminating mythological beings and purporting a pure human race? I mean, I know I seem sort of dickish, but as a Historian you cannot just proclaim something abundantly fictional as being historical. The closest thing to what you've described would be Nazi Germany, who wanted to breed a race of ubermensch.

    Now, if your organization was based around Christianity and cleansing evil infidels and beings from existence you would have some more basis on saying that it is historical, but as it is there isn't really any similarity between your group and the actual crusades. There is definitely similarity between your group and, say, the Warhammer Imperium of Man that abhors all things not human. There isn't anything in your initial post to hint toward a religious angle at all, just guys that hate fables. So, I don't see what historical basis your group has.

    Good luck, though. I'm just being a nit-picky history geek.
